Who runs it
SepticNear is a small, independent publisher. It is not owned by, or a front for, any business it lists. Listings, corrections and questions are handled by our listings editor, Quentin. Write to editor@septicnear.com and it reaches the desk directly.
Where the facts come from
- State licensing rosters from the Arkansas Department of Health, Missouri DHSS, Oklahoma DEQ and Tennessee TDEC.
- Each business's public Google profile, matched to the roster by phone number, for hours, reviews and whether it is still open.
- County and state permit rules, each linked to the agency page it came from.
Every listing shows when it was last checked. The full method is on how we verify listings.
What decides a listing
A business appears only if it holds an active state license (or discloses a lapsed one, marked as such) and passes our quality score. Order in a city is by distance and that score.
Independence and money
No business can pay for its place in the rankings, its badges or its verification. One business per area can pay a flat monthly fee for a sponsored box, which is labelled Sponsored, sits apart from the ranked list and is explained on our advertise page.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, email editor@septicnear.com with the page and what should change. A business can also update or claim its own listing. We check each correction against a public source or the business itself, fix what is wrong, and date the change. A business closed on its public record is removed automatically; a business that tells us it is still open stays listed while we check.

No ad cookies, and nobody's details are sold. See the privacy page.
