Requirements
Christian County (Nixa/Ozark) has enforced its own county-wide onsite wastewater ordinance since 1992, stricter than state minimums: permits required for new systems and repairs/replacements via the Christian County Health Department (301 E. Brick St., Ozark; 417-581-7285); all system components must be field-marked before application; fiberglass/plastic tanks must be anchored against flotation; installers must hold BOTH Christian County and Missouri state certification. Building permits require Health Department wastewater sign-off first.
