Requirements
Septic permitting in Washington County runs through the Arkansas Department of Health Onsite Wastewater Program via the local county health unit. A new system needs two ADH permits (construction + operation). The application must be prepared by a certified Designated Representative (who performs the perc test and system design) and approved before construction begins. Plan review fee for alternative systems: $30, submitted to the local Health Unit.
