SepticNear Pump-Out Reminder

Septic permits in Davidson County, TN

The rules, the agency, and what happens before anyone can dig.

Requirements

Nashville and Davidson County run their own septic program through the Metro Public Health Department, Environmental Health, at the Lentz Public Health Center, 2500 Charlotte Avenue, phone 615-340-5616. You do not apply to the state here.

Metro approves a system as a design recommendation that sets the maximum number of bedrooms the lot can carry. That number follows the property, and it matters when you add on or sell. You can ask Metro for the approved bedroom count on any address at no charge, and scanned property files are searchable online.

Permit fees are not posted on the pages we read in September 2026. Ask the office when you call.
